I am a linguist and sociologist by education (university degree in Hispanic philology and sociology of culture), and a nature and sports lover at heart. As well as a tourist guide, mentor in non-formal education, specialist in later life education, and a musician. And a mommy! If we don’t meet in a classroom, online, or in your company, we might cross paths in the mountains or on remote trails where, while running or walking, I tend to clear my head and be one with nature. Or maybe at a concert or cultural event, where I love to discover new dimensions of living and get to know worlds beyond my own.
I fell in love with the Spanish language in my days as a student of the Poljane Secondary School in Ljubljana, the capital of my country. Back then, I would never have imagined it was to become my long-time companion. Looking back today, I do not regret that, after finishing high school, I decided to study Spanish philology in combination with the sociology of culture, first at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, and then at the Universidad Autónoma in Madrid, Spain, where I finished my studies and then, back home, I received my BA/MA degree.
Yet another student of human sciences, you will say, which does not promise much in terms of later employment, right? I admit it's not easy. But on the other hand, this is keeping me constantly active, I am continuously training myself in various fields, seeking new opportunities, and enriching the services that I offer. I am one of few, I think, who is lucky enough to be able to transform what was initially a hobby into a source of income. And that is why I know I can be grateful for having remained true to myself and being able to do what makes me happy on a daily basis. The income I earn from doing what I love most is just the logical consequence of my passion. What more could one ask for?
My efforts are therefore focused on encouraging the people I meet to discover and fall in love with the Spanish language, too, whether by attending my classes for individual, travel motives, or because they are studying or working in a Spanish speaking country, or need to learn Spanish for business reasons. I also offer online Spanish classes. For many years now, I have combined teaching Spanish with translation, so feel free to contact me if you need any translations into/from Spanish. However, my desire is not only to make sure people fall in love with the language I teach! As a local tourist guide I can proudly say that I’ve been around when travelers or newcomers fall in love with the region I live in while discovering it together with me. This is one of the most breath-taking parts of Slovenia! By contacting me, you will get a travel experience tailored to meet your needs. So let me walk you through the narrow streets of our charming, medieval town of Kamnik, where I live with my family. If you enjoy nature, hiking or cycling, I will take you to one of our most beautiful mountain pastures – Velika Planina, and/or guide you along the desolate paths of the Kamniška Bistrica River valley known only to the locals.
